Job summary

The University of Southern California (USC) is seeking a Clinic Assistant to support the USC Physical Therapy clinic at University Park Campus. This is a 12-month fixed-term position with potential extension.

The role supports the physical therapist by handling non-patient and patient-related tasks and improving clinic efficiency. Key duties include scheduling appointments, preparing charts, setting up exam rooms, assisting with exams, maintaining records and inventory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience in medical office management or medical secretarial work.
• Combined education/experience may satisfy minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments, answer general questions, obtain authorizations for patient care services.
• Prepare patient charts prior to appointments and set up exam rooms.
• Assist providers and clinicians with exams and patient-related tasks; maintain patient flow and charting.
• Maintain files/records and oversee equipment and inventory.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

1 year medical office/secretarial experience
