Job summary

Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking a Clinic Assistant (CA) to provide direct and indirect patient care in a physician office setting under supervision of a Physician and/or licensed nurse. The role includes performing laboratory and other testing, and assisting with clerical functions in ambulatory care.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of clinic experience, a Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• One or more years' recent experience as a clinic assistant in a physician office or hospital setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days if hired.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient treatments under supervision.
• Performs basic tasks, screening procedures and specimen collection.
• Screens for and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintains examination area.
• May perform administrative or clerical duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, billing, and patient registration.
• Presents a friendly, approachable, professional demeanor and appearance.
