Job summary

Saint Joe's in Cincinnati, OH, seeks a dedicated Clinic Assistant to join our Nursing team, under the Clinical Services Manager. The role supports residents with developmental disabilities, coordinating medical care with the Clinic Nurse while upholding privacy and dignity.

This non-licensed position requires strong communication and teamwork, with flexible weekend availability and the ability to operate vehicles for appointments. CPR/First Aid required or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate agency vehicles and accompany residents to medical appointments.
  • Support daily living activities including hygiene, mobility, and personal care.
  • Maintain and update residents' medical records and health documentation.
  • Coordinate clinic visit scheduling and transportation for residents.
  • Monitor equipment, TB testing, and required screenings.
  • Document incidents with the Clinic Nurse.
  • Uphold HIPAA privacy and participate in staff development.
  • Assist with care coordination and responsive communication.

Location: Saint Joe's, Cincinnati, OH
Department: Nursing
Schedule: Full-Time, Availability ranging from 6:00am-6:30pm including weekends and holidays as required
Reports to: Clinical Services Manager

Position Summary

Saint Joe's is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinic Assistant to join our Nursing team. Under the supervision of the Clinical Services Manager, the Clinic Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of residents with severe to profound developmental disabilities. This position collaborates closely with the Clinic Nurse and healthcare providers to coordinate and monitor medical care while upholding the dignity and rights of our residents.

Note: This is a non-licensed support role and does not require Ohio Board of Nursing licensure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate agency vehicles and accompany individuals to medical appointments.
  • Support residents' daily living needs, including hygiene, mobility, and personal care.
  • Maintain and update residents' medical records and health documentation.
  • Track and support compliance with TB testing and other required screenings.
  • Monitor, clean, and manage clinical equipment and supplies.
  • Report and document unusual incidents in coordination with the Clinic Nurse.
  • Ensure resident safety and privacy in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and ongoing professional development.
  • Assist with clinic visit scheduling, coordination, and transportation for residents.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license with fewer than 6 points and personal vehicle insurance.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain).
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility to meet operational and scheduling needs, including weekends.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Regularly required to bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. independently and up to 120 lbs. with assistance.
  • Must be physically able to assist with transferring and mobility of residents.
  • Work involves both indoor and outdoor settings and may include exposure to medical conditions, cleaning agents, and food-related substances.
  • Occasional exposure to moderate noise, mechanical equipment, and emergency situations.
  • Must be able to drive a van or bus in city and freeway traffic.
