Job summary

The City of Federal Way is seeking a part-time Climbing Wall Attendant to support the new climbing program at the Federal Way Community Center. You will teach belay techniques, orient pass holders, and supervise open climb and clinics for ages 3 to adult.

Responsibilities include equipment rental, wall maintenance, route setting assistance, and tracking climber participation while promoting teamwork and safety. Must be able to work with children and hold current First Aid/CPR.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Experience working with children and adults.
• Preferred rock climbing experience, indoor or outdoor.
• Passion for people and new program ideas.
• Valid Washington state driver's license and current First Aid/CPR.

Responsibilities

• Teach and certify belay techniques to pass holders.
• Supervise open climb, clinics and parties.
• Rent equipment and verify safety of outside gear.
• Maintain climbing area and equipment cleanliness.
• Assist with route setting and wall maintenance.
• Monitor climber usage and retention.
• Work with children and support program growth.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
