Job summary

Montrose Recreation District is seeking a safety-minded staff member to supervise the Montrose Community Rec. Center climbing wall. You will handle daily preparation, maintenance, customer service and cleaning for indoor climbing.

This role emphasizes belay certifications, orientations, and supervision for rentals; training may include setting routes and assisting classes. You will work with children and adults to keep the environment fun, safe, and welcoming, with shifts including evenings and

Qualifications

• Explain and enforce safety rules and facility regulations.
• Maintain a safe, fun rock climbing environment for all users.
• Lead belay certifications and climbing wall orientations.
• Supervise special interest group rentals.
• Assist in training/classes as needed.
• Maintain wall and ensure holds are secure and clean.

Responsibilities

• Explain and enforce safety rules and facility regulations.
• Ensure a safe, but fun rock climbing environment for all users of the facility.
• Execute Belay Certifications and Climbing Wall Orientations, and supervise for rentals and special events.
• Assist in setting routes and training for classes as needed.
• Maintain wall, holds, and belays, keeping equipment clean and safe.
• Work with children and adults to create a fun, safe, welcoming environment.
