Job summary

The Summit is seeking a dedicated facilitator to lead and supervise a high-risk challenge course and climbing activities in Glen Jean, WV. You will ensure safe operations, maintain equipment, and uphold Scout values while engaging participants in fun, educational experiences.

The role requires training completion, comfort with heights, strong communication, and the ability to work as part of a team within a camp environment. Housing and shift expectations are part of the position.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+.
• Must be able to complete lead Facilitator Training.
• Comfortable at heights 6' to 180' and weight 50-250.
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (background screening).
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication.

• Become thoroughly familiar with all the information related to the challenge course
• Ensure proper use, security, and care of program equipment
• Assist with tasks to maintain the facilities of the overall challenge course program facilities
• Use all safety equipment mandated in your program venue effectively and properly
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions

• Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
• Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership

• Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook

• Must be able to complete lead Facilitator Training (provided)
• Comfortable at heights of 6' to 180' and weight between 50-250 for equipment manufacturer standards
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication

Physical & Practical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 65 pounds
• Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
• Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55
