Job summary

Central Rock Gym in Boston is seeking an Assistant Manager to partner with the General Manager in daily operations, overseeing staffing, memberships, programs, events, payroll, retail, and facility maintenance. The role emphasizes building a welcoming, fun environment and strong community experience for climbers of all levels.

You will lead by example, ensure service excellence, coordinate with corporate staff on marketing and policies, manage gear and schedules, and uphold safety and facility

Qualifications

• 2+ years climbing required.
• Flexible schedule – early mornings, nights and Holidays.
• CPR/First aid certified a plus; CWI/AMGA or similar certification highly desired.
• Approachable, energetic personality with ability to lead a team.
• Experience with Google Suite preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive, inclusive environment for all employees, members and guests.
• Assist with reporting, meeting goals, and overseeing payroll and expenditures.
• Deliver outstanding customer service.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvement and marketing strategies.
• Manage retail including stock and inventory.
• Assist in staffing and scheduling, hiring, and performance reviews.
• Ensure staff are trained and able to support the facility.
• Maintain clean, high-quality facilities and equipment.
• Support incident reporting, safety reviews, and emergencies.
• Plan and execute location events and member nights.
• Stay informed on climbing industry trends.
