The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a climbing arborist trainee for on-site work in New Berlin, WI. You will learn climbing techniques, pruning and removal skills, and safety procedures as part of a tree crew.

Qualifications

• Outdoor enthusiasm and love of the outdoors.
• Preferred: Forestry, horticulture, landscaping background or working at heights.
• Must complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Must complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses on hire.
• Preferred: State-required pesticide licenses/certificates.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and work as part of a tree crew.
• Progressively learn pruning and removal skills.
• Perform pruning, thinning, and deadwood removal following industry guidelines.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees and manage tools and equipment safely.
