Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Milford, OH is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist to join our team of tree care professionals. Your office is outdoors, and you’ll gain a new view every day while delivering pruning, removal, and health-enhancing work.

You’ll use climbing systems, work with the crew, and ensure safety as you serve residential and commercial clients. Davey offers extensive training, advancement opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: relevant pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform pruning and removal work safely and skillfully for clients.
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees.
• Maintain and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws and chippers.
• Be part of the greenspace stewardship team; growth opportunities depend on you.
