Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist to join our team in Baltimore, MD. The office is outdoors, providing a unique view of each day’s work. CDL is required, and pay ranges from $30 to $42 per hour depending on experience.

A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered for qualified applicants, with bonus payouts at 90 and 180 days of service. Join a leading greenspace stewardship team and perform climbing and pruning duties safely on trees using a variety of climbing systems.

Qualifications

• Background in forestry, horticulture, landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred licenses/certifications as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Work with ground crew and crew leader to perform pruning and removal safely.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood from tree canopies; install cables or lightning protection as needed.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
