Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Santa Cruz, CA is seeking a skilled climbing arborist to trim and remove trees, manage diseased limbs, and protect health and safety on site. You’ll climb using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems and work as a collaborative crew member with the ground crew and crew leader.

This permanent, full-time role offers on-site work, dedicated safety training, provided gear, a 401(k) with company match, and clear opportunities for advancement within one of the nation’s leading

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide licenses and certificates, if required by state law

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Work as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to: Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy, Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems, Removal of hazardous trees, Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
