The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a climbing arborist trainee to join our tree care team in Youngstown, OH. This outdoor role offers hands-on learning on pruning, removal, and safety procedures while contributing to client projects.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and operate as a member of a tree crew.
• Learn to perform tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Identify trees and follow industry pruning guidelines; prune, thin, and remove deadwood.
• Learn how to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees; maintain and operate tools and equipment.
