The Davey Tree Expert Company in Milford, OH is seeking a climbing arborist trainee. Your office is outdoors and you will be trained to climb, prune, and safely care for trees as part of a tree crew.

You will complete safety and first aid trainings, gain hands-on experience with equipment like chainsaws and lifts, and grow toward independent pruning and removal work across residential and commercial sites.

• Love of the outdoors.
• Willingness to learn climbing and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and get paid during training.
• Work as part of a tree crew while progressively learning new skills.
• Learn pruning and removal techniques following safety guidelines.
• Identify trees and apply pruning guidelines.
• Prune, thin, remove deadwood in canopies.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees.
• Maintain and operate tools including chainsaws and aerial lifts.
