Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist Crew Leader to join our outdoor team in Lombard, IL. This part-time role offers hands-on leadership with a focus on arboricultural care, crew mentorship, and safe operation of climbing systems.

You will climb, prune, install support structures, and guide crew members through our development program while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and client service. Office is outdoors with varied daily views.

Qualifications

• Must love the outdoors and be able to work outdoors in varied weather.
• Completion of Davey Tree Orientation Program and safety trainings required on hire.
• Preferred certifications include ISA Arborist/Tree Worker and TCIA Tree Care Safety Professional.

Responsibilities

• Directly lead a crew to provide arboricultural care for clients.
• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood; install cables, bracing, and lightning protection.
• Remove hazardous trees and mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
