Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a climbing arborist to join our team in Baltimore, MD. This outdoor role involves trimming, pruning and removing trees and working with a ground crew leader to deliver safe, high-quality tree care services.

Requirements include a CDL and the ability to operate DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered to qualified applicants, with a pay range of $30–$42 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred pesticide licenses if state law requires.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

$1,500.00 SIGN ON BONUS FOR QUALIFIED APPLICANT

Bonus paid in increments of -$500 paid out in 90 days of service and $500 paid out in 180 days of service.

CDL REQUIRED

Pay $30-$42/ hr depending on experience

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
