Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a climbing arborist to join our outdoor team in Gibsonia, PA. Your office is the fresh air of the yard and the daily skyline, as you trim and remove trees to improve health, safety and landscape value for our clients.

You’ll work with a crew, using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems, handling pruning, removal, cabling, bracing and protection installations, while maintaining equipment and following safety practices.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb Trees and perform pruning and removal work.
• Operate as part of a crew with ground crew and crew leader.
• Prune, thin and remove deadwood in the canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection.
• Remove hazardous trees and maintain tools and equipment.

Position Overview

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
