Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Climbing Arborist to join our outdoor team. You will trim and remove trees, perform pruning and removal, and work with a crew using advanced climbing systems.

Your office is outdoors, with a new view each day. We offer a $1,500 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants, paid in installments, and a pay range of $28–$33 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Love of the outdoors.
• Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Pesticide licenses/certificates if state law requires.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as active crew member with ground crew and foreman.
• Perform pruning and removal safely and skillfully.
• Pruning, thinning and removal of deadwood in canopies.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees and maintain equipment.

$1,500.00 SIGN ON BONUS FOR QUALIFIED APPLICANT

Bonus paid in increments to include $500 the first month and $500 each consecutive month

Pay range $28-$33/hr depending on experience

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees

or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You'll Do:

• How high you grow depends on you!
• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreman.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts

and more.

Qualifications

What We're Seeking:

• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
