The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist Trainee in Gurnee, IL. This on-site role offers hands-on training to learn climbing, pruning, and safe tree care while progressively taking on more responsibilities in a crew environment.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete orientation and safety trainings on hire.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and be part of a tree crew.
• Perform pruning and removal tasks safely under guidance.
• Assist in installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection.
• Maintain and operate tools including chainsaws and chippers.
• Learn safety and industry pruning guidelines.
