The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist Trainee to join our outdoor-oriented team in Gurnee, IL. The role involves learning tree climbing, pruning and removal techniques while working safely as part of a crew.

You’ll start with on-the-job training through the Davey Tree orientation and safety program, with opportunities to advance, earn hourly pay between $20 and $23, and access benefits including PTO, holidays, 401(k) with company match, and health coverage.

Qualifications

• Must complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Must complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Related pesticide licenses or certificates as required by state law.

Responsabilités

• Learn to climb trees and operate as a member of a tree crew.
• Learn to perform pruning and removal safely and skillfully.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, etc.).
• Grow skills progressively based on performance.
