Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring a climbing arborist in Spring Valley, NY. The role involves pruning and removing trees, climbing with DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems, and working safely on job sites with the crew.

You will perform all aspects of tree care for clients, maintain equipment, and participate in safety trainings. Benefits include health plan, paid time off, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees and operate climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal services for clients.
• Operate with ground crew and foreman as an active crew member.
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).

Position Overview

Trimand removetrees, remove unwanted,diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areasby performing the following duties.

Compensation

$25-$30 Hourly (Based on experience and certifications)

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.

Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients. Including but not limited to:

• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreman.
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
