The Davey Tree Expert Company in Spring Valley, NY is seeking a climbing arborist to join our outdoor crew. You will perform pruning and removal work from the ground and in trees, using certified climbing systems (DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS). You’ll also ensure safety and provide high-quality service to clients.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Preferred: relevant pesticide licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsabilités

Position Overview

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

Compensation

$25-$30 Hourly (Based on experience and certifications)

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.

Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients. Including but not limited to:

• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreman.
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
