Job summary

Ramboll in the United States is seeking a Climate Adaptation Planner/Designer to join our Water Infrastructure & Climate Adaptation team. You will collaborate with planners, engineers, and scientists on coastal and interior flood resilience projects across the Northeast, Midwest, and Mid-Atlantic, applying nature-based solutions and community-based planning.

You will support public engagement, develop maps and graphics, and contribute to climate risk assessments and design documents across

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning, Urban Design, or Engineering with 3–5 years of experience.
  • Experience in climate adaptation and resilience, urban design, and flood mitigation with nature-based solutions.
  • Experience across planning, conceptual, schematic, and detailed design phases; strong graphic communication.
  • Familiarity with climate risk assessment, climate justice concepts, and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ArcGIS Pro, Adobe CS, AutoCAD, Rhino; certifications such as AICP preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely with colleagues and collaborate across project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop climate resilience plans with a focus on coastal and interior flood resilience.
  • Create schematic and conceptual designs for resilience solutions with multi-disciplinary guidance.
  • Develop community engagement plans and lead stakeholder outreach and public meetings.
  • Produce public-facing reports, maps, diagrams, and graphics to convey technical concepts.
  • Contribute to climate risk and vulnerability assessments addressing multiple hazards.
