Job summary

First Step Communities in Sacramento seeks a Client Support Associate (CSA) to monitor and direct clients at Stockton Safe Stay, ensuring safety, guiding guests through intake and services, and building rapport to help end homelessness.

This full-time, in-person role requires weekend shifts and pays $21.00–$24.00 per hour, with benefits including dental, health, life insurance, 401(k) style retirement plan, paid time off, and vision coverage.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work weekends.
• In-person customer service and safety monitoring.
• Ability to build rapport with clients experiencing homelessness.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and facilitate the transition of guests/clients from intake areas to shelter/cabins, including tours of dining, counseling, meeting and classroom areas.
• Maintain concentration and focus to perform essential job functions accurately and safely.
• Exercise sound judgment and decision-making in time-sensitive or high-stress situations.
• Regulate emotions and maintain professional composure when interacting with clients, coworkers, or the public.
• Process and analyze information, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Ensure all clients and visitors check in and out of the facility.
• Keep a safety watch day and night and lead conflict resolution during issues.
• Assist guests/clients as needed.
• Escalate suspected abuse/neglect to Management.
• Help clients access stored possessions and process exit from the facility as required.
• Distribute and serve meals to clients.
• Receive, process, distribute, and store donation items to support clients.
• Disinfect and clean shelter beds/cabins and manage client belongings movement.
• Perform facility cleaning and maintenance.
• Write daily activity logs and incident reports; maintain regular attendance.
