Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Prior client service experience is valued, but not required.
  • Experience in veterinary or medical settings is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication rooted in empathy and honesty.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and practice management software; AVImark is a plus.
  • Able to work well in a team and demonstrate genuine care for animals.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and their pets warmly, assess needs, and manage check-in/check-out.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate care to ensure timely visits.
  • Educate clients on pet health, medications, and follow-up care.
  • Assist with over-the-counter product sales and honest recommendations.
  • Process payments accurately and explain charges clearly.
  • Remain calm in emergencies and communicate action steps to clients.
  • Keep reception area clean, organized, and welcoming.
