Job summary

Allegan County is seeking a dedicated clerical specialist to process domestic relations payments and perform related tasks in the Treasurer's Office. Responsibilities include posting receipts, reconciling accounts, and assisting with inquiries from clients and banks.

The starting wage is $24.26 per hour for full-time employment, with an extensive benefits plan including health, retirement, tuition reimbursement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Six months to one year of clerical/bookkeeping experience.
• Drug screen (THC) required to be hired for this position.

Responsibilities

• Batches and posts received payments to proper accounts.
• Monitors suspense accounts and reconciles discrepancies.
• Communicates with clients, banks, attorneys and DHHS staff regarding account information.
• Receipts and records of all payments processed through the Treasurer's Office.
• Reviews tax intercept reports and verifies account status and eligibility.
