Job summary

AKA NYC is a New York City based, award-winning advertising agency known for its culture-rich campaigns across arts, entertainment, leisure, travel, retail and tourism. We seek an experienced client account professional to support directors, manage client relationships, and help lead campaigns from planning through completion.

You will collaborate with creative and media teams, drive project timelines, and contribute to strategy while handling budgets and invoicing.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in client account roles, preferably in arts, culture, entertainment, or theater.
  • Strong client relationships and project management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with ability to work autonomously.
  • Contribute to campaign strategy and collaborate with creative, media and other teams.
  • Solid understanding of project budgets and financial goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel; Asana experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support Account Directors and leads in delivering excellent client service and managing expectations.
  • Build relationships with clients and external partners including ticketing and press teams.
  • Translate briefs into clear internal plans; manage timelines and campaigns from planning through completion.
  • Partner with Creative Studio to develop plans, improve workflows, and resolve challenges.
  • Prepare and lead effective client meetings with clear agendas and action items.
  • Support campaign strategy and media planning where appropriate.
  • Handle weekly billing, estimates, and invoicing; assist in budgeting.
  • Mentor Account Coordinators and manage workflow during peak periods.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Support Account Directors and account leads in delivering excellent client service, responding promptly to requests and managing client expectations
  • Build strong relationships with clients and external partners, including ticketing, press, and specialist agency teams where relevant
  • Translate client briefs into clear plans for internal teams. Manage project timelines, track progress, and help deliver campaigns from planning through completion
  • Partner with Creative Studio and other teams to develop campaign plans, improve workflows, and resolve challenges
  • Prepare for and help lead effective client meetings, with clear agendas, decisions, action items, and follow-up
  • Support campaign strategy and planning, including media strategy where appropriate
  • Complete weekly billing, coordinate project estimates and invoicing, and support Account Directors or account leads in managing budgets
  • Help train and coach Account Coordinators. Anticipate peak periods and potential workflow issues, managing up to Account Directors with recommendations and solutions
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 3 - 5 years of experience as a client account executive, account coordinator, or related role. Experience in arts, culture, entertainment, and theater, is a plus
  • Strong client relationship and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and move work forward
  • A proactive, resourceful approach and sound judgment when solving problems or anticipating client needs
  • An entrepreneurial spirit; proven record for being a self-starter, proactive, and the ability to work autonomously
  • The ability to contribute to campaign strategy and work effectively with creative, media, and other specialist teams
  • An understanding of project budgets and financial goals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with Asana is a plus
WHAT WE OFFER

The salary range for this position in New York, NY is $66,300 to $84,999 per year.

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and years of experience. A discretionary bonus may be provided as part of the total compensation package.
