Job summary

Animal Clinic East in Chattanooga, TN seeks a full-time Client Service Representative (CSR) to join our AAHA-Accredited hospital. The CSR will be the first and last impression for clients, ensuring a welcoming, safe environment for both people and their pets.

The role focuses on front desk operations, bridging communications between pet owners and our veterinary team, handling appointments, payments, and client questions with compassion and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
  • Experience as a doctor's assistant is a bonus (human or veterinary).
  • Ability to learn multiple programs and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome visitors and assess their needs.
  • Handle incoming calls and emails and determine urgency.
  • Check-in/check-out clients and review invoices.
  • Communicate visit expectations and assist pet owners to reduce stress.
  • Process financial transactions accurately and schedule appointments.
  • Manage emergencies and walk-ins, respond to online requests.
  • Maintain lobby and exam rooms cleanliness and stocking.

DescriptionClient Service Representative – Veterinary Receptionist Animal Clinic East is seeking a full-time Client Service Representative (CSR) to join our AAHA-Accredited hospital in Chattanooga, TN.

CSRs are valuable members of our veterinary team, and we treat them as such. As a CSR, you will be the client’s first and last impression of Animal Clinic East. It’s important that all clients feel welcome, safe, and comfortable which is why it takes a special person who can engage with both humans and animals alike with compassion, patience and understanding. The primary responsibility of a CSR is to be efficient in front desk operations while effectively bridging communication between pet owners and our veterinary team.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome each visitor and assess their needs
  • Handle incoming phone calls/emails and determine the urgency
  • Perform client check-ins and check-outs, including reviewing invoices
  • Communicate visit expectations to clients, assist owners with pet management to minimize unsafe situations and client’s stress
  • Process and document financial transactions accurately
  • Schedule appointments based on client expectations, patient medical requirements and clinic needs
  • Manage emergency situations and walk-ins
  • Respond to online requests for products, prescriptions or client questions in a timely manner
  • Maintain cleanliness in the lobby areas, exam rooms, and general stocking of client or patient areas
  • Recommend products available to clients through our facilities

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • At least one year of customer service experience required
  • Experience as a doctor’s assistant is a bonus (in human or veterinary medicine)
  • General computer skills and ability to learn multiple programs
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to problem solve
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Team player, have patience and maintain a positive attitude
  • Must be able to work seated for a majority of the day
