VCA Family & Oahu Veterinary Specialty Center is seeking an Overnight Client Service Representative to greet clients, check in emergencies, schedule appointments, and handle front desk tasks in a 24/7 hospital setting.

As the face of the night shift, you will process payments, educate clients on pet care, assist with medical records, and maintain a clean, organized front desk while supporting veterinary staff.

Qualifications

• At least one year of proven past experience helping customers.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Compassion for pets and people—as well as awareness and understanding of others’ reactions.
• Proven decision-making skills to choose the most appropriate course of action.
• The ability to integrate new information into problem-solving.

Responsibilities

Opening in 1997 as a small two doctor practice working normal business hours, Family Veterinary Clinic quickly grew to a five doctor practice, opened 7 days a week, 365 days a year as the only clinic on island with overnight emergency veterinary care. VCA acquired us in 2005, turning Family Veterinary Clinic into VCA Family Animal Hospital. As the face of our hospital at night, the Overnight Client Service Representative (CSR) sets the tone for the practice as we build and maintain each customer's trust and confidence in our abilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Customer service functions, including: greeting visitors, answering telephones, directing clients
• Checking in emergency clients and scheduling appointments
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Placing outbound calls for follow-ups
• Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments
• Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions
• Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (i.e., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, and flea & tick control)
• Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence
• Hospital maintenance (including removal of animal waste) and ensuring that facility is neat and clean at all times—both inside and outside

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least one year of proven past experience helping customers
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Compassion for pets and people—as well as awareness and understanding of others’ reactions
• Proven decision-making skills to choose the most appropriate course of action
• The ability to integrate new information into problem-solving
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be exposed to hazards associated with pets such as allergies, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste
• Some veterinary experience desired, but not required

SCHEDULE:

Full and Part-time positions available. The hospital is open 24/7 and overnight coverage is key. One weekend shift per week is required.

COMPENSATION:

The hourly rate for this position is $? - $? per hour and is negotiable based on a candidate's experience, credentials, skillset, education, schedule and other factors.

COMPENSATION:

$21 - $26/hr
