CLIENT SERVICE COORDINATOR
The Client Service Coordinator (CSC) drives the flow of clients and pets through the hospital, maximizing the veterinary medical team’s productivity, ensuring effective communication with associates and clients, and coordinating the care of clients and pets in a welcoming, efficient, and friendly manner. The role’s aim is to influence clients to return and refer their friends and families while fostering a fun team environment that offers clear career growth opportunities.
JOB SUMMARY
The CSC works within the high‑velocity, client‑centric environment of Banfield Pet Hospital, promoting hospital services, ensuring superior client care, and maximizing the number of pets seen by the team. The position involves recruitment, client education, documentation entry, financial management, administrative functions, and cross‑functional collaboration with the veterinary staff and associates.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within oneself and the team.
- Actively recruit new clients by promoting hospital services and routing the flow of clients and pets to ensure superior client care and maximum productivity of the veterinary medical team.
- Maximize the number of pets seen by the hospital team through a productive and efficiently run hospital, supporting the needs of our Wellness Plan clients.
- Provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service at all times, including encouraging hospital visits, welcoming clients and pets, ensuring comfort, and educating them about pet health.
- Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventative care, pet health needs, and hospital services.
- Assist incoming clients by completing required documentation, entering pet information and history into the computer, placing collars and tags for identification, and ensuring prompt service.
- Assist outgoing clients by providing instructions, information, invoices, dispensing prescription items per the veterinarian’s instructions, selling retail products, and scheduling future appointments.
- Manage finances by maintaining accurate balances and utilizing proper opening and closing procedures.
- Conduct administrative functions as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Special Working Conditions
- Work at a computer for long periods.
- Confidence around pets (dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc.).
- Work may require over 40 hours/week; work weekends and evenings.
- Clear mental processes for reasoning, memory, mathematics, and language (English).
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and manipulate up to 50 pounds.
- Good hand‑eye coordination, arm‑hand‑finger dexterity, visual acuity (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth).
- Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch; occasional exposure to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, medication, or controlled substances.
Experience, Education and/or Training
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be at least 18 to perform duties involving radiography or exposure to radioactive substances. One year of related customer service experience required; medical background (veterinary technician, human healthcare, pharmaceutical) with medical terminology training is preferred.

Pay Range: $15.00 – $18.69 per hour, based on experience, skill level, education, and local wage laws.
