Qualifications

  • The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably a year of customer-service experience.
  • Experience or training in medical terminology is a plus.
  • Familiarity with veterinary or medical environments is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit new clients by promoting hospital services and directing flow of clients and pets to ensure superior client care.
  • Maximize the number of pets seen by the hospital team through a productive hospital operation.
  • Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service, welcoming clients and pets.
  • Educate clients about wellness plans, preventative care and hospital services.
  • Assist incoming clients with documentation, enter pet information and history, and ensure prompt service.
  • Assist outgoing clients by providing instructions, invoices, dispensing prescriptions, selling retail items and scheduling appointments.
  • Manage finances by maintaining accurate balances and following opening and closing procedures.
  • Conduct administrative functions as necessary and perform other duties as assigned.

Client Service Coordinator – Overview

The Client Service Coordinator drives the flow of clients and pets through the hospital, maximizing the productivity of the veterinary medical team and ensuring effective communication with associates and clients. The role coordinates client and pet care in a welcoming, efficient manner, influencing repeat visits and referrals.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
  • Recruit new clients by promoting hospital services and directing the flow of clients and pets to ensure superior client care and maximum productivity of the veterinary medical team.
  • Maximize the number of pets seen by the hospital team through a productive and efficiently run hospital supporting the needs of our wellness plan clients.
  • Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service, welcoming clients and pets, ensuring comfort, and educating them about their pet’s health.
  • Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventative care, pet health needs and hospital services.
  • Assist incoming clients with required documentation, enter pet information and history, use collars and tags for identification, and ensure prompt service.
  • Assist outgoing clients by providing instructions, invoices, dispensing prescription items, selling retail products and scheduling future appointments.
  • Manage finances by maintaining accurate balances and following opening and closing procedures.
  • Conduct administrative functions as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Special Working Conditions

  • Good vision and hand‑eye coordination required for keyboard use and equipment operation.
  • Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch, and occasional exposure to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and controlled substances.
Experience, Education and/or Training
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 18 years old to handle radiography and radioactive substances.
  • One year related customer‑service experience preferred; medical background (veterinary tech, human healthcare, pharmaceutical) and medical terminology training a plus.
Pay Range

The pay range for this role is $16.93 - $21.63 per hour, determined by experience, skill level, and education, and may vary by location or applicable minimum wage laws.
