Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Client Service Coordinator to drive client and pet flow, maximize team productivity, and deliver exceptional service in a welcoming environment. You will educate clients on wellness plans, manage documentation, and assist with invoicing and scheduling while maintaining positive client relationships.

The role emphasizes multitasking, attentiveness, and professional communication in a veterinary setting, with potential to work beyond standard hours as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred and 18+ to handle radiography exposure.
  • At least 1 year of related customer service experience preferred.
  • Medical terminology training or background is desirable.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook proficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist clients and patients, ensuring a welcoming experience.
  • Educate clients on preventive care and hospital services.
  • Complete documentation and enter pet information accurately.
  • Process invoices, dispense prescriptions and schedule appointments.
  • Assist with opening/closing procedures and balance finances.
  • Provide professional, efficient client service with clear communication.

Job Summary

The Client Service Coordinator (CSC) drives client and pet flow through the hospital, maximizes productivity of the veterinary medical team, maintains effective communication with associates and clients, and coordinates client and pet care in a welcoming, efficient manner. The role influences client retention and referrals.

Responsibilities
  • Live and exemplify Mars, Inc.’s Five Principles.
  • Recruit new clients by promoting hospital services and efficiently routing clients and pets.
  • Maximize the number of pets seen by the team by running a productive hospital.
  • Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service: welcome clients, ensure comfort, educate on pet health.
  • Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventative care, and hospital services.
  • Assist incoming clients: complete documentation, enter pet information, use identification tags, and ensure prompt service.
  • Assist outgoing clients: provide instructions, invoices, dispense prescriptions, sell retail items, and schedule future appointments.
  • Manage finances: maintain balances and perform opening/closing procedures.
  • Perform administrative functions as necessary.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Special Working Conditions
  • Prolonged computer use.
  • Comfortable around pets (dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc.).
  • Work may exceed 40 hours per week, including weekends and evenings.
  • Physical requirements: standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing; lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch; occasional exposure to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, medications.
  • Good visual acuity for keyboard use.
Experience, Education, and Training
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 18 years old to handle radiography exposure.
  • One year related customer service experience preferred.
  • Medical background (veterinary technician, human healthcare, pharmaceutical) with medical terminology training preferred.

Pay Range

$16.93 – $21.63 hourly. The rate depends on candidate experience, skill level, and education, and may vary by location and minimum wage laws.
