Job summary

Standish Management, LLC seeks a Fund Controller to lead client onboarding for its fund accounting group. You will manage day-to-day onboarding operations, prepare client deliverables, and communicate with clients in collaboration with the Manager.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Finance/Accounting/Economics, 3–4 years in public accounting or equivalent, and familiarity with PE/VC and partnership accounting. Strong Excel and team-oriented work ethic are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting/economics or related field.
• Private Equity/VC experience and partnership accounting knowledge preferred.
• 3–4 years public accounting or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Understand the client's fund structure and reporting.
• Supervise client onboarding and gather materials.
• Prepare/review capital calls and LP communications.
• Assist onboarding of investor data in software systems.
• Support data implementation and historical data review.
• Track project status in PM system; collaborate to implement best practices.
• Provide ongoing systems support for the firm.

Job description

Exciting opportunity for a client services professional to join a rapidly growing fund administration firm! The Fund Controller role plays a key role in helping to onboard new clients to Standish’s fund accounting group. In conjunction with the Manager, the Fund Controller is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the client onboarding process, which includes preparation of client deliverables and communications.

Essential Functions

• Develop a thorough understanding of the client’s Fund structure and reporting (ie. blockers, splitters, AIVs)
• Supervision of gathering and organizing client onboarding
• Preparation and/or review of capital calls, LP communication documents, and other client deliverables
• Assist with onboarding client investor information in software systems
• Assist with historical data implementation and review
• Maintain status of projects in Standish’s project management system
• Collaborate with the Manager to develop and implement best practices
• Manage ongoing systems support for the firm

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required (Finance/Accounting/Economics concentration preferred)
• Previous Private Equity/VC experience and knowledge of Partnership Accounting
• Minimum 3-4 years of public accounting experience or equivalent
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word & Outlook
• Familiarity with accounting reporting systems (Allvue, eFront, etc.)

• Strong organizational skills and work ethic
• Adept using web-based data entry databases

Compensation Annually (varies by location)

• Seattle: $80,000+
• San Francisco: $85,000+
• Walnut Creek: $85,000+
• Los Angeles: $80,000+
• Denver: $75,000+
• Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.
