Job summary

Venable LLP is seeking a Client Intake Analyst in Los Angeles to perform conflict searches and support the firm’s new business intake process. The role includes reviewing requests, conducting searches, and coordinating with ethics and business intake committees to ensure accurate file openings and changes.

The ideal candidate has a degree or paralegal certification and at least one year of law firm experience, with knowledge of conflicts and intake concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of one year law firm experience; additional experience with new matter intake, conflicts, or legal admin support is preferred.
• Working knowledge of legal conflicts and business intake concepts.
• Experience using Aderant, Elite, Intapp, or comparable systems preferred.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills are required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing new client and matter requests, amendments to existing matters, and client/matter maintenance requests.
• Conducting conflict searches using Firm systems, databases, and research tools for new matters and change requests.
• Researching clients and conflict parties using internal and external resources to identify potential conflicts, issues, or inconsistencies.
• Analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing conflict search results and research findings for review by relevant committees.
• Reviewing, validating, and processing new matter openings and client maintenance tasks per policies.
• Coordinating with ethics and business intake committees and attorneys to ensure intake requests are completed accurately.
• Monitoring intake queues and related mailboxes; prioritizing work and rush requests.
• Responding to inquiries about client intake and conflicts via email/phone, troubleshooting and escalating as needed.
• Maintaining accurate documentation within the intake system.
