Qualifications

• Requires 2-3 years of behavioral health insurance verification or related experience.
• Experience with Medicaid, managed care, and payer authorizations preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work across departments.

Responsibilities

• Educate staff on insurance coverage, payer requirements, and authorization processes.
• Develop workflows and reference materials to improve client insurance navigation.
• Serve as escalation point for complex insurance questions.
• Monitor renewals, changes in coverage, and payer updates.
• Extract and organize insurance data in EHR systems to support care continuity.
• Communicate with clients to implement self-pay agreements and collect payments.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate insurance information.
• Track changes in Medicaid, managed care, and OhioRISE.
• Resolve insurance issues with utilization review and billing staff.
• Use data analytics to identify trends and gaps.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Travel with designated service areas.
• All other duties.
