Job summary

Kalepa is looking for Forward Deployed Engineers to embed with customer teams, solving hard problems and delivering real-world impact with Kalepa’s software in insurer environments.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in software engineering, plus experience with APIs, cloud services, and strong problem-solving skills. This is a high-visibility, client-facing role requiring collaboration across engineering, product, and customer success.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience, including direct customer work.
• Experience building or integrating external APIs and 3rd party systems.
• Strong ownership and ability to drive projects to completion with minimal oversight.
• Proactive communication, blockers, stakeholder updates.
• Comfort with experimentation, measuring results, and iterative problem-solving.
• Strong system-design, debugging, and problem-solving fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python (or strong OO background).
• Experience with serverless technologies (e.g., Lambda, EC2), async workflows, and cloud environments.
• Knowledge of relational databases and performance tuning, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Bonus: experience with LLMs/generative AI and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical approach for client problems, build the solution, and adapt as data demands.
• Embed with customers to integrate Kalepa's software into their systems and ensure value.
• Collaborate with a global team of engineers, product managers, and customer success.
