Job summary

Cognex Corporation in Chicago, IL is seeking a Project Manager with external customer facing experience who will flourish in our Work Hard, Play Hard, Move Fast culture. You will coordinate resources on projects integrating Cognex designed solutions, engaging in pre-sales activities, assess risks, and deliver high quality results for customers.

You will manage schedules, communicate with stakeholders, control scope, and ensure profitability while maintaining Cognex standards.

Qualifications

BA degree in a technical discipline (preferred) or equivalent professional experience.
3+ years of project management experience in high-tech services or related field.
On-call availability for customer emergencies; after-hours or weekend work may be required.
Travel 20–50% of the time.
English language proficiency required.
PM certifications such as PMP or CSCP preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and align internal and external resources to meet the project schedule.
Maintain relationships with customers pre- and post-sale.
Develop schedules and monitor progress, communicating status to stakeholders.
Define scope changes and communicate to stakeholders to achieve completion and acceptance.
Manage project documentation to set up the service or customer for success.
