Job summary

Baker Tilly US is seeking a Payroll Support Specialist to directly assist our payroll clients and deepen their understanding of payroll practices and laws. You will work under a Payroll Supervisor to manage client relationships and escalate issues when needed.

You will ensure payroll data accuracy, process payrolls timely, and generate reports on earnings, taxes, deductions, and employer contributions. You will also train clients on ADP software and stay updated on regulations.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree preferred or 2 years experience in lieu of degree.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Experience with ADP software platforms desirable.
• Working knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Highly detail oriented and focused on accuracy.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Ability to effectively work in a deadline driven environment serving multiple clients.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; appropriately and professionally communicates with all levels.
• Ability to learn new technology and processes quickly.
• Ability to learn from experiences and integrate new knowledge and skills into daily work and share with colleagues as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Ensure client payroll information is accurate within their payroll system and resolve discrepancies.
• Process payrolls in a timely manner, update records, calculate bonuses or severance, and review tax calculations.
• Prepare reports of earnings, taxes, deductions, and employer contributions.
• Establish strong client relationships and maintain confidentiality.
• Convey detailed information in written and verbal form; provide software support to clients.
• Identify out-of-scope work and opportunities to expand services.
• Be an additional resource to the implementation team and manage new client implementations.
• Train clients on payroll processes as necessary.
• Support and mentor new hires; share knowledge and maintain product knowledge on ADP platforms.
• Stay current on local, state, and federal payroll laws.
