Your Team

The Client Development team is a supportive, dedicated group that partners closely to help attorneys execute effective business development. The team creates long‑term value by facilitating growth, cultivating relationships, and connecting clients with the legal resources they need to thrive. The group is passionate about its work, holds itself to high standards, and believes in empowering one another—because when you succeed, everyone succeeds.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of strategic business development plans; track progress against goals and report on results.
  • Develop business development and marketing deliverables, including pitch materials, formal RFP responses, brochures, thought leadership pieces, invitations, website content, and other tailored marketing materials.
  • Play a key role in supporting the Intellectual Property department by identifying business development and marketing opportunities and taking action to pursue them.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen and refresh content while meeting client needs.
  • Prepare survey and award submissions and compile client references for publications such as Chambers, The Legal 500, and Law360.
  • Track Intellectual Property experience and matters to support a range of business development and marketing efforts.
  • Plan and execute client seminars and external events that promote the practices, managing details through post‑event follow‑up.
  • Help organize speaking opportunities and conference sponsorships; serve as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders on attendance and logistics.
  • Collaborate with the competitive intelligence team to produce, analyze, and share client and industry research to support initiatives and client meetings.
  • Maintain and monitor digital marketing channels, including the internal website and event email campaigns, ensuring content is engaging, accurate, and timely.
  • Coordinate internal communications related to marketing initiatives to keep attorneys and staff informed and aligned (e.g., event announcements, internal presentations); promote knowledge sharing across teams and departments.
  • Help develop and maintain marketing collateral libraries (e.g., presentations, bios, practice descriptions, case studies, templates), ensuring materials are current, consistently formatted, and aligned with brand standards.
  • Support regular reporting on Intellectual Property practice metrics and assist with budget management.
  • Support additional business development initiatives and special projects, as needed.
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least five years of business development/marketing experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of business development and marketing principles in professional services, including client targeting and client management; intellectual curiosity and a commitment to expanding market knowledge.
  • Ability to develop strategy, plan effectively, and execute business development and marketing initiatives in collaboration with others.
  • Collaborative, team‑focused approach with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with attorneys.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills; able to prioritize multiple time‑sensitive tasks and adapt as priorities change.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with competing demands.
  • Ability to develop practical, creative solutions as issues arise.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable working with firm leadership and key stakeholders, and able to collaborate effectively with attorneys and staff.
  • Highly motivated self‑starter with a strong work ethic, an enthusiastic “can‑do” attitude, and a willingness to take ownership and support the broader team as needed.
  • Ability to coach and support junior colleagues and contribute to a positive, inclusive team environment.
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime and travel for events/conferences.
  • Strong skills in MS Office software (Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel); working knowledge of Vuture, Foundation, PitchPerfect, and Sitecore a plus.
  • Experience with CRM software; experience with Intapp a plus.
