Job summary

VOA Alaska is seeking a Client Care Specialist One (CCS1) to coordinate the intake process, manage referrals, collect client information, verify financial details, and schedule appointments. You’ll liaise between clients, programs, and the billing department to ensure clear understanding of anticipated care costs.

The role is patient-facing, non-exempt, hourly, and full-time in Alaska. Strong communication, Medicaid knowledge, and ability to handle sensitive information are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Health information management education preferred.
• Minimum two years’ Medicaid regulations, billing, and quality assurance experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including days and evenings.
• Must have valid Alaska driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check as required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact between clients, guardians, referrals, billing, and providers to facilitate communication and care coordination.
• Oversee and track the POE (Point of Entry) process.
• Input and track potential clients and obtain/vet registration documents.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; enter data into EHR for correct payer submission.
• Initiate and track financial assistance applications and assist with Medicaid applications.
• Communicate with stakeholders to align on costs and plans for treatment before intake.
• Schedule assessments, program intakes, and client appointments; assist with telehealth.
• Scans documents into EHR; maintain organized spaces and protect client confidentiality.
