Job summary

Grassi & Co., CPA's P.C. in New York is seeking an Accounting Services Manager to lead our Client Accounting Services (CAS) team.

You will oversee financial reporting, technical accounting engagement work plans, and coach staff to develop technical proficiency while delivering superior client service. The role requires a CPA-advantaged background, 6+ years in public accounting or high-net-worth client accounting, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA designation strongly preferred.
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in public accounting, family office services, or high-net-worth client accounting support.
Demonstrated success managing client relationships and leading engagements.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information and provide meaningful insights.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience interacting with executives and high-net-worth clients.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Serve as trusted advisor and primary client contact, delivering exceptional service and fostering long-term relationships.
Research complex technical accounting topics and applicable guidance and regulations.
Review and approve bill payments, wire transfers, and disbursements with strong internal controls.
Oversee reconciliations for bank, brokerage, and credit card accounts.
Maintain books for individuals, trusts, and partnerships.
Review journal entries, financial statements, and month-end close activities.
Assist team with year-end vendor review for 1099 processing.
Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
Lead, mentor, and develop staff and senior accountants.
Coordinate multiple client engagements and ensure timely delivery of all deliverables.
Monitor expense reporting processes and ensure proper documentation and compliance.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation across accounting workflows.
