Job summary

BST Gallagher Flynn LLP seeks a Client Accounting & Projects Manager to lead client accounting projects, strategic advisory services, and complex project management across the engagement lifecycle. You’ll partner with clients, practice leadership, and the Operations team to implement improvements in systems, processes, and reporting.

The role requires strategic thinking, strong project management, and client relationship expertise, with experience in managed services transitions and governance

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive outsourced accounting, advisory, or public accounting experience.
• Experience leading complex client engagements and managed services transitions.
• Hands-on with cloud-based accounting solutions and integrated platforms (QBO, Sage Intacct, Fund EZ, NetSuite, Workday).
• Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills for reporting and forecasting.
• Proven ability to oversee scope, timelines, and deliverables across projects.
• Solid understanding of AP/AR and payroll processes and their impact on operations.
• Experience reporting to executive leadership and Boards with insights and recommendations.
• Capability in forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
• GAAP knowledge, internal controls, and accurate financial reporting.
• Experience supervising accounting/advisory professionals in a team setting.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support and execute the vision and strategic initiatives of the Outsourcing Accounting & Advisory leadership team for the Business Advisory and Projects function.
• Partner with projects leadership to manage activities across the three-phased delivery model (Assessment, Implementation, Managed Services).
• Support complex client advisory and ad hoc strategic projects, including assessments and implementations.
• Drive continuous improvement by enhancing processes, controls, efficiencies, and reporting via technology.
• Develop and execute financial models, business plans, and forecasting tools for clients in exit planning or growth.
• Oversee day-to-day client financial operations and ensure timely real-time reporting.
• Apply audit-based methodologies to month-end close and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review balance sheet and income statement reconciliations with documentation.
• Analyze general ledger activity for variances, trends, and anomalies monthly and annually.
• Ensure regulatory and compliance reporting is accurate and on time.
• Serve as primary point of contact for client leadership and Boards; communicate clearly.
• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for clients.
• Lead annual audit coordination and tax return processes.
• Assist with supervising, mentoring, and developing project accounting team members.
• Own multiple projects, managing scope, timelines, resources, and deadlines.
