Position Overview

As the Client Accounting Manager, you will oversee accounting and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of nonprofit and mission-driven organizations. You'll provide technical accounting guidance, review financial reporting, support client relationships, and help develop a high-performing accounting team.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in public accounting, client accounting services (CAS), outsourced accounting, nonprofit accounting, controllership, or accounting management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounting engagements for multiple client organizations
• Review financial statements, reports, reconciliations, and accounting deliverables
• Provide accounting guidance and support to clients and internal team members
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting and bookkeeping staffMonitor project timelines and ensure client deadlines are met
• Improve accounting workflows, procedures, and reporting processes
• Partner with client leadership teams as a trusted advisor
• Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and operational improvements
• Support audit preparation and financial compliance activities
• Participate in client meetings and relationship management

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Experience reviewing financial reports and accounting work
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or team mentoring experienceStrong Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software
• Excellent communication and client service skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in nonprofit accounting or finance
• Public accounting, CAS, outsourced accounting, or consulting experience
• Experience working with multiple clients or business entities
• Exposure to audits, audit preparation, or financial statement reviews
• Experience with Form 990 filings
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification
• Experience implementing process improvements and operational efficiencies
