Job description

Job Description

Responsible for the daily/weekly maintenance of pallet tracking (where applicable), audit of driver logs and trip reports, driver file DOT requirements tracking, and serving as a liaison for internal customer support. Track all return goods as directed by the customer for closeout of returns from the private fleet. Tasks include dispatching over radio, entering information into a YMS and Excel, handing out bill of ladings to drivers, and scanning/copying documents.

Shift: 2nd shift, 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm (Monday - Friday)

Pay Rate: $18.50/hr

Major Responsibilities
  • Perform various office and administrative duties, including maintaining office supply inventory, databases, miscellaneous reporting, and answering phone calls.
  • Audit logs and trip reports, ensure compliance with DOT reporting, and maintain files.
  • Interact with customers and resolve driver equipment requests.
  • Update moves within a yard management system, maintain movement records, and dispatch drivers.
  • Maintain and distribute route books, interface daily with drivers, and escalate driver/operational concerns to management.
  • Involve the Safety team as required by location.
  • Prioritize workload and adjust based on position requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of general office experience.
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Regular, predictable full attendance is essential.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary and work the required schedule at the specific location.
  • Complete Penske employment application, undergo background investigation (including past employment, education, criminal history), and drug screening.
Physical Requirements

The physical and mental demands include reading, communicating verbally and in writing, analyzing information, and understanding instructions. The role may require standing, walking, sitting, using hands to handle objects, and occasionally lifting/moving up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
