Job summary

KBR’s Defense & Intel Internship Program invites motivated students for Summer 2027. You’ll work in electrical and computer engineering contexts, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to meaningful national-security projects alongside experienced professionals.

The internship offers mentorship, exposure to cutting-edge projects, and a collaborative team environment. Expect 12‑week duration, ~40 hours/week, with competitive pay and a strong culture focused on growth.

Qualifications

• Full-time rising junior, senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a Technical related field.
• Major fields of study: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or any other scientific/engineering/technical degree with appropriate experience.
• Experience with Python, MatLab, C++, Java or similar coding languages.
• Learn and apply state-of-the-art scientific coding practices.
• Perform validation and regression testing of new and existing MATLAB scientific code.
• Experienced with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Learn details and functions within our cross-functional engineering team.
• Perform device fabrication tasks in a cleanroom environment.
• Characterize devices using parameter analyzers, function generators, and oscilloscopes.
• Develop and execute test scripts to streamline data collection and analysis.
• Document processes, collect data, and present results within the research group.
• Learn and execute device and circuit modeling techniques, including finite‑element software.
• Other duties as assigned.
