Job description

McCrone Associates, Inc., a leading analytical and research laboratory, seeks a skilled and innovative laboratory scientist to work full-time as part of a team in our ISO 5 (Class 100) cleanroom facility.

The team is responsible for imaging, characterizing, and preparing samples of small particles and other materials for analysis. The types of materials are varied. Special extraction and processing techniques are employed and require exact record keeping.

Light microscopy is used to identify and characterize the materials and to prepare samples for instrumental analysis. In order to isolate particles/samples from a variety of substrates, special micromanipulation techniques and tools are used that require extreme dexterity with both hands. The scientist works closely with senior scientific staff members throughout the completion of all projects.

The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree in natural science, medical technology or the forensic sciences and 3-5years of relevant laboratory experience. All candidates must have experience in the use of a microscope and sufficient physical dexterity to perform micromanipulation tasks required to handle small samples. McCrone is looking for people that have good laboratory skills and exceptional aptitude for details, including accurate record keeping. Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and databases is required.
