Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking a student helper to support contamination control activities across the laboratory. Responsibilities include chemical analysis, materials testing, microscopy, and maintaining cleanroom and lab supplies.

The role emphasizes safety, proper PPE use, and the application of chemistry and physics fundamentals in real-world scenarios, with flexibility for school and summer hours.

Qualifications

• Enrolled at Utah State University pursuing a degree in chemistry, physics, or a related field.
• Must have a minimum of one year of school remaining.
• Able to work 15–20 hours per week during the school year and 30–40 hours per week during the summer.
• Strong aptitude for laboratory work and safe lab practices.
• Able to apply basic principles of chemistry and physics in real situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in laboratory-wide contamination control activities.
• Perform chemical and thermal vacuum laboratory tasks and chemical analysis.
• Conduct materials testing and microscopy work.
• Perform precision cleaning of aerospace hardware and manage cleanroom supplies.
