Job summary

SERVPRO of Columbus, Jackson & Jennings Counties is hiring a full-time restoration technician to respond to water and fire damage at residential and commercial properties in Columbus, IN. You will work with water extraction, drying, cleaning, packing belongings, and operating restoration equipment under supervision.

The ideal candidate is dependable, maintains a professional appearance, has a valid driver's license, and can lift 50+ lbs.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required; clean driving record preferred.
• Experience in fire/water restoration or IICRC certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to residential and commercial properties affected by water or fire damage.

• Structural cleaning of properties and inventorying belongings.
• Operate and maintain restoration equipment and safety practices.
• Provide excellent customer service and follow supervisor directions.

Responsibilities may include:

Responding to residential and commercial properties affected by water damage or fire damage.

• Water extraction, light demolition, use of hand tools and power tools.
• Structural cleaning of commercial and residential properties.
• Inventorying and packing personal property.
• Develop knowledge of structural drying techniques and become knowledgeable in the operation of specialized equipment on job-sites.
• Gain working knowledge of the assessment and inspection process, etc.
• Follow all safety practices at facility and job-site.
• Ability to follow the direction of the on-site supervisor and complete tasks with little or no supervision.
• Aid in the general care and maintenance of all equipment. and vehicles.
• Develop an understanding of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service.

Requirements:

• Professional appearance, friendly, cooperative, and great attitude.
• A valid driver license with a reasonable driving record.
• Dependability.
• Experience in fire restoration, water restoration, and/or IICRC certifications are a plus but not required.
• Physical requirements: Must be able to lift (50+lbs), and stand for all shifts
• Be able to work in all climates including extreme heat and cold
