Job summary

Charlotte Pipe in West De Pere, Wisconsin, is hiring for finishing and related manufacturing roles. Openings: 3. You will follow safety rules, inspect castings, operate grinders and finishing equipment, and move castings through the production line with care and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, foundry, metal fabrication, grinding, or finishing preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and quality procedures.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Experience with forklifts, overhead cranes, or jib cranes is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements.
  • Inspect castings for quality and conformance to customer specifications.
  • Remove excess metal, gates, risers, and sand from castings using grinders, hammers, wedges, and other approved tools.
  • Operate hand grinders, pencil grinders, saws, and other finishing equipment.
  • Load, unload, sort, and stage castings using hoists, winches, cranes, conveyors, and other material handling equipment.
  • Follow work instructions, process sheets, job packets, and production schedules.
  • Move castings to designated workstations, containers, pallets, or shipping locations.
  • Assist with secondary finishing operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the work area.
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, quality, and support personnel to improve processes and product quality.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and implement new technologies and techniques when introduced.
  • Cross-train and perform other finishing department duties as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
  • Frequent bending, squatting, reaching, lifting, and repetitive motion.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.Ability to work in a loud, warm, dusty industrial environment.
  • Ability to safely wear and utilize required personal protective equipment.
Work Schedule
  • Must be available to work assigned shifts and overtime as production requirements dictate.
