Job summary

Streetplus is seeking Cleaning Ambassadors in San Francisco to patrol assigned zones, collect litter, and maintain a welcoming, safe environment. Youwill be on your feet for long periods, outdoors in all weather, using a cart and basic smartphone to report tasks and incidents.

Prior janitorial or groundskeeping experience is preferred but not required; a high school diploma or GED is needed. Streetplus offers full-time hours and a benefits package including medical and paid time off.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned zone with employer-provided cart, collect litter and debris from sidewalks and gutters.
• Clean and sanitize waste and graffiti, remove posters from public infrastructure.
• Assist with minor landscaping and ongoing maintenance tasks as needed.
• Greet pedestrians, provide directions, and help residents and workers.
• Report infrastructure damage and suspicious activity via smartphone and log tasks daily.

Overview

JOB SUMMARY

• Pay: $21/hr ; Full-time 40hrs/wk
• Locations: Around Civic Center and Mid-Market (roughly 11th to 5th between Market St and Mission Ave)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Requirements: Able to work outdoors on your feet for long hours at a time in all weather conditions

You'll patrol an assigned zone in uniform (employer provided), keeping the area clean and inviting while serving as a welcoming presence for pedestrians. Most of your day is litter collection and graffiti removal — physical, active work where you can see the difference you're making in your community. You will be on your feet walking for long hours at a time. We work outdoors, even in bad weather. Please see the requirements below for more details.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Cleaning & Maintenance

• Patrol your zone with a rolling supply cart, collecting litter, fast food bags, cigarette butts, and debris from sidewalks, gutters, and alleys
• Clean and sanitize human and pet waste with supplies and other equipment
• Remove graffiti, stickers, posters, and handbills from light posts, trash cans, news boxes, and other public infrastructure
• Pull weeds from tree wells, sidewalk cracks, and vacant areas
• Wipe down and straighten outdoor surfaces like trash can lids and news boxes
• Assist with minor landscaping, pressure washing, and special projects as needed

Community & Reporting

• Greet pedestrians, offer directions, and assist visitors, residents, and workers
• Interact respectfully with homeless individuals and connect them with available local resources when appropriate
• Report infrastructure damage, graffiti on private property, and suspicious activity via smartphone
• Log daily tasks and completed work using a smartphone

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We hire for attitude and train for skills. No prior cleaning experience is needed as long as you are dependable and willingness to learn new skills.

• Prior manual labor or customer server experience
