Job summary

Vaakawi is hiring a The Cleaner for the 2nd shift to maintain high hygiene and tidiness across residential, office, and industrial spaces. The role focuses on sanitizing surfaces, waste removal, and keeping environments visually appealing in a systematic, safety-conscious manner.

The Cleaner will perform custodial duties per established standards. The position requires 1 year of experience and offers a full-time schedule with a range of benefits including medical and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• 1 year of cleaning or custodial experience preferred.
• Experience in residential, office, or industrial settings is a plus.
• Ability to follow cleaning protocols and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Surface Cleaning: Dust, wipe down, and polish furniture, fixtures, ledges, and window sills.
• Sanitization: Deep clean and disinfect high-touch areas and restrooms to prevent the spread of germs.
• Floor maintenance: Vacuum carpets and rugs; sweep and mop hard floors.
• Waste removal: Empty trash cans and replace liners; sort recycling appropriately.
• Supply management: Notify management when cleaning supplies run low.

Job Description

The Cleaner is dedicated to maintaining a high standard of hygiene and tidiness within assigned spaces. This role focuses on the efficient execution of cleaning tasks to ensure environments are sanitary, visually appealing, and comfortable. Whether in a residential, office, or industrial setting, the Cleaner works systematically to sanitize surfaces, remove waste, and maintain the aesthetic order of the facility.

The Cleaner will perform a variety of custodial duties for Vaakawi. Such responsibilities shall be in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures of Vaakawi.

Job Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

• Surface Cleaning: Dust, wipe down, and polish furniture, fixtures, ledges, and window sills.
• Sanitization: Deep clean and disinfect high-touch areas (doorknobs, light switches, countertops) and restrooms to prevent the spread of germs.
• Floor Maintenance: Vacuum carpets and rugs; sweep and mop hard floors.
• Waste Removal: Empty trash cans and replace liners; sort recycling into appropriate bins.
• Supply Management: Notify management or supervisors when cleaning supplies or consumables (soap, tissues) run low.
• Specialized Cleaning: (Depending on the specific role) Perform deep cleaning tasks such as shampooing carpets, cleaning inside appliances, or sanitizing medical equipment.
